The Abenaki tribe
FOOD
The Abenaki tribe ate different kinds of food. They hunted for their food by foot and sometimes they took long trips just to get their food. They mostly hunt and eat deer. But along with that they also mostly eat rabbit. I don't know how they can hunt down a rabbit but they manage to do it.
RELIGIONS
Back then the Abenaki tribe had different religions than we have now. But who knows some might have the same religion. Anyways they worshiped the earth and thunder spirits. The earth and thunder spirits were very powerful. The earth spirit controlled earth and the thunder spirit controlled thunder.
CLIMATE
In the winter the temperature was four degrees! But in the spring the temperature rose up to maybe about like ninety degrees! So in the winter it was pretty cold so they probably had to have some pretty thick warm coats. In addition in the summer they were probably sweating very badly. But I'm sure they made it through.
ENTERTAINMENT
Well they didn't have a t.v. so they maybe got bored. But they still had something to entertain them. They played music. The musical instruments that they played were mostly drums, burl drums, and horn rattles. But they didn't just play music they played other things to.
CULTURE
The Native Americans had different culture than we have today. They had Plains culture and Subarcitic culture. You see they had different names for their culture. Like these above. But they didn't just have these two cultures, they had different ones too.
INTERESTING FACTS
I hope you respect old people because one of my interesting facts is old people were respected. Next most people were strong and tall. And finally older woman were often needed to care for children.

The Abenaki
Once there was a tribe named The Abenaki. One of them was named Old man bear. Old man bear was very respected, as old people were in the Abenaki tribe. Old man bear was strong and tall and had great wisdom.
On this particular day Old man bear was on his way to talk with the Earth and Thunder spirits. He was carrying his drum that he used to speak to these spirits. It had been a while since he needed to ask them a very important question.
He began to play his drum to call the spirits, '' Grandfather Earth.'' Old man Bear said. '' Help my people.'' You see, it had been a while since there had been rain and everything was dry. '' My people are thirsty and so are our animals.'' Old man bear played his drum louder as he repeated these words. '' BOOM - BOMB- BOOM-BOMB!'' rumbled his drum.
Old man bear knew that the spirits needed to hear him and he continued for a long time. He was hot and tired. All of a sudden he heard the rumbling of thunder above. Old man bear knew that the spirits had heard his cry and were happy with him. The Abenaki tribe rejoiced the coming of rain with that included rabbit and bear. They praised Old man bear for having spoken to the spirits. And the tale is told to this day of how Old man bear saved the Abenaki tribe.
The End.
